President Bola Tinubu praised Nigerian soldiers on Friday, referring to them as courageous, valiant officers and the defenders of the nation.
The president expressed these words during his official visit to the frontline troops in Katsina State.
“I address you today not only as your President and Commander-in-Chief but as a fellow patriot, deeply honored by your bravery, sacrifice, and steadfast dedication to the peace, security, and sovereignty of our great nation.
“You are Nigeria's shield, the courageous sons and daughters who stand between our populace and the threats of terror.
“Every inch of land you secure, every terrorist you neutralize, and every community you protect is a triumph for justice, freedom, and the future of our children,” stated Tinubu.
He emphasized that the battle the troops are engaged in within Katsina State and throughout the country is not merely a fight for territory; it is a struggle for the very soul of Nigeria.
“Your determination in the face of peril motivates the entire nation. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
“You have stepped away from your families and the comforts of civilian life to don the uniform of honor and duty. You confront danger not for wealth or recognition, but for the love of our beloved country.
“That, my brothers and sisters in uniform, is the utmost expression of patriotism. You are the silent protectors of our democracy, and I salute you,” declared the president.
Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties faced by the troops.
“We are taking decisive measures to provide you with advanced equipment, superior intelligence, and strong logistical support, not just to defend this nation but to conquer and eliminate every adversary.
“However, it is not solely about armament. Your welfare is my primary concern.
“We are dedicated to ensuring your families are safe, your allowances are paid punctually, your healthcare is assured, and your dignity is preserved.
“Housing programs, family support systems, insurance coverage, and enhanced remuneration are being rolled out without delay,” the president continued.
He mentioned that the threats of terrorism, banditry, and insurgency have lingered for too long, and that Nigerians are relying on the government and the troops to eliminate these threats and reclaim every inch of the country's territory.
Tinubu urged, “Let me hear you clearly: Are you prepared, are you determined to put an end to this insecurity once and for all? Let your resolve resonate through every valley and forest.
“Let the enemies of Nigeria understand that their time is over,” he charged the soldiers.
He strongly asserted that victory in this war will not be achieved by weapons alone but by the resolve to stand firm, resist, fight, and prevail.
“As your President, I will accompany your bravery with action, investment, and unwavering support.
“To those who aim to destabilize our nation, whether they be domestic collaborators or foreign agents—know this: Nigeria will not yield.
“Not to fear. Not to terror. Not to betrayal.
“You, the Nigerian military, are the forefront of this struggle. With your bravery and discipline, peace shall triumph.
“Stand tall. Take pride. Nigeria relies on you, and I stand with you—today, tomorrow, and always,” he emphasized.
Tinubu urged the troops to remain resilient and focused, for God and the country.
