President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to rescue the remaining abducted female students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State.
Armed bandits attacked the institution around 3:00 a.m. on a Friday, abducting several students, including females.

This incident occurred five months after a previous kidnapping at the same university. Additionally, over 80 youths were kidnapped in a separate incident in Wanzamai village in Zamfara,
Channels TV reports.
Zamfara State has experienced a significant amount of insecurity and terrorism in recent years.
Notably, there was a high-profile kidnapping of 279 female students from the Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe, in February 2021.
During the recent abduction at the Federal University Gusau, the Nigerian army reportedly engaged the terrorists in a shootout and managed to rescue six female students.
President Tinubu emphasized the government's determination to make educational institutions safe, free from terrorist threats, and conducive to learning.
In a statement, he condemned the heinous crimes and expressed his commitment to protecting Nigerian citizens. He assured the families of the abducted students that every effort would be made to ensure their safe return.
