Tinubu Nominates Yemi Cardoso As Cbn Governor

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the nomination of Dr. Yemi Cardoso as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), with an initial term of five (5) years, pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. This decision aligns with Section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which designates the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the appointing authority for the CBN Governor and Four (4) Deputy Governors, subject to Senate confirmation. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Tinubu's Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale. In addition to the Governor nomination, Tinubu has also greenlit the appointment of four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), with an initial term of five (5) years, awaiting confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. The nominees include: Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo Mr. Philip Ikeazor Dr. Bala M.
