The president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has accepted an invitation from President Bola Tinubu to visit Nigeria this year.
Tinubu extended the invitation on Wednesday during their bilateral discussions at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, as stated by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesman.
Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as a guest of the UAE president to take part in the Sustainability Week.
He presented Nigeria’s stance on climate issues and other challenges earlier on Wednesday and congratulated the UAE leader on the successful event.
During their talks, the sheikh expressed gratitude to Tinubu for accepting his invitation and emphasized the UAE’s commitment to enhancing economic collaboration between Nigeria and the UAE. The two leaders also discussed ways to attract investment into Nigeria.
Tinubu remarked that his government’s economic reforms are beginning to show positive results and urged the UAE to collaborate with Nigeria in economic development.
He noted that these reforms have stabilized and grown the economy, prompting foreign investors, including international oil companies, to announce significant investments, indicating renewed confidence in engaging with Africa’s most populous nation.
Tinubu expressed his appreciation to Mr. Al Nahyan for the warm welcome extended to him and his aides since their arrival over the weekend.
