NIGERIA- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated Ademola Lookman, a Super Eagles forward, on receiving the 2024 CAF Men's African Footballer of the Year.
Tinubu also congratulated Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie on winning the CAF Women's Goalkeeper of the Year award and the Women's National Team of the Year.
The Awards were presented Monday night at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech.
Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga said on Monday that President Tinubu joins millions of Nigerians in congratulating these athletes, characterizing them as great ambassadors for showing their talent and bringing honor to the country on the continental and global stages.
“The President believes that the recognition by Africa’s highest football authority will inspire other upcoming athletes to remain steadfast in pursuing their dreams.”
He affirmed that their determination, discipline, and confidence underscore the administration’s resolve to build a better Nigeria where everyone thrives and succeeds.
