ABUJA, Nigeria - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday reaffirmed his command to the Armed Forces to effectively address the growing insecurity in the nation and to put an end to it immediately.
In his message celebrating Christians in Nigeria and around the globe as they observe Easter, a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith. President Tinubu highlighted his administration's commitment to restoring peace and security in the country.
“Just as Christ overcame death, our nation will also overcome every challenge we encounter,”
Tinubu remarked. The President, emphasizing that his commitment remains steadfast, proclaimed that the “forces of evil” will never succeed against the country.
“I have provided clear instructions to the Armed Forces and all pertinent security agencies to decisively end insecurity without delay. With the unwavering bravery and dedication of our courageous men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making consistent progress in reclaiming peace and stability,” he stated.
President Tinubu also praised Nigerians for their endurance and resilience as “the economy begins to demonstrate promising signs of recovery.”
He noted that his administration is diligently working to alter the narrative across all sectors to regain investor confidence.
“We recognize the economic challenges many of you are confronting, and we are tirelessly striving to restore investor confidence, stabilize essential sectors, and construct an inclusive economy that benefits all Nigerians.
The Holy Week, which spans from Palm Sunday to Holy Thursday and Good Friday, culminating in Easter Sunday, encourages us to reflect deeply on the timeless values of sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope.
“As President of our blessed nation, I draw inspiration from this enduring message of hope and renewal. I remain unwavering in my commitment to fulfilling the promise of a Renewed Hope, a better, more equitable, and prosperous Nigeria for everyone.
“The recent tragic events and the loss of lives in certain areas of our country have deeply saddened me. I empathize with the pain and fear these events have caused,” the President remarked.
He also joined the global Christian community in expressing gratitude for Pope Francis’s recovery this Easter, praying that his renewed strength continues to inspire his leadership and service to humanity.
Tinubu added: “I sincerely pray that the spirit of Easter fills every heart and home with renewed faith in the tremendous potential before us as a country. Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our nation triumph over every challenge we encounter. Although the present moment may seem grim, it will lead to a brighter future.
“I urge all Nigerians to remain hopeful, united, and determined in the pursuit of national progress.
The challenges we face are significant, but united, with faith and determination, no obstacle is insurmountable. Our unity and resilience are our greatest assets.
“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace and our nation with continued unity and prosperity. Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians.”
