In the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, at least three people who were believed to be political thugs have been killed.
According to reports, while voting was taking place, thugs broke into polling places 026 and 004 in Gboko South and made an effort to steal ballot boxes and the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, or BVAS.
Moses Agure-Dam, an eyewitness who corroborated the news to reporters, claimed that military officers shot and killed the thugs.
He declared, "The thugs broke into the polling places and messed up the election. They were three, and one of them attempted to steal the BVAS while the other two attempted to steal ballot boxes but they didn’t succeed.
"The nearby soldiers immediately opened fire on them, killing them all."
