The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has issued a warning to those calling for a national interim administration in the wake of Bola Tinubu's election as president.
Mohammed Ghali-Alaaya, the leader of the ACF chapter in Kwara State, said anyone pushing for an interim administration needs to be detained and charged with treason.
Ghali-Alaaya said the body will stiffly reject those calling for an interim government.
On Saturday in Ilorin, he addressed journalists and spoke to them.
Ghali-Alaaya asserts: "I think everyone should be convinced that when the actual election took place, Tinubu won handily, and the majority of the votes he attracted were even from the North.
“Nigerians have spoken, and we have done so loudly. It is so sad for anybody now to say that anyway, anybody, however highly placed found advocating or supporting any interim government in any guise will be met with very stiff opposition.
"Anyone who does so should be arrested and tried for treason since this is the height of unpatrotism for the country."
