'The Interrogation of Lotanna' won the Best Nollywood Short Film award at the Realtime International Film Festival in Birmingham, UK.
Stanley Ohikhuare launched the Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in 2016 intending to establish a healthy creative economy for independent filmmakers.
The festival has made a substantial contribution to the entertainment ecosystem in its host city, starting the careers of over 150 new filmmakers, many of whom now have films available on major streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon.
The festival provides a forum for young and emerging filmmakers to develop and showcase their talents, with at least 80% of participants being up-and-coming creatives.
This year's edition featured screenings and nominations for numerous Nigerian films, including Ozor Uche's Garden of Healing, Prince Daniel's Kaka, and Seun Afolabi's Arinye.
Lotanna's interrogation narrates the adventures of Captain Ardo, who was dispatched to crush an eastern insurrection. He aims to find the rebellion's commander, Zuru Nkwu. Following months of futile attempts, genuine intelligence leads Ardo to Lotanna, a person of interest. Despite being tormented, Lotanna remains innocent.
The film features a talented cast including William Chinoyenem, Cassey Oritsejolomi, Anthony Nwahiri, Francis Sule, Michael Embraiz and Mr. Rala
