In a tweet today, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk reiterated Tesla's commitment to significantly expand its Supercharger network.
Musk emphasized that the company will invest over half a billion dollars this year solely in constructing new charging sites and expanding existing ones.
"Just to reiterate: Tesla will spend well over $500M expanding our Supercharger network to create thousands of NEW chargers this year," Musk tweeted via his official X account.
Musk also clarified that this substantial investment does not include the much higher operational costs associated with running and maintaining the expanded network.
Tesla's Supercharger network is a crucial component of its electric vehicle ecosystem, providing fast and convenient charging solutions for Tesla owners.
This ongoing expansion highlights the company's dedication to making long-distance travel more accessible for electric vehicle owners.
This announcement aligns with Tesla's recent efforts to open its Supercharger network to non-Tesla electric vehicles in certain regions. The expansion would increase charging access for all EV drivers, potentially boosting wider electric vehicle adoption.
