RIVERS, Nigeria - Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara was present yesterday at the Boys Brigade Metropolitan Battalion Council Nigeria's special 2025 Thanksgiving Service held in Port Harcourt.
This comes amidst speculation about his potential shift to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in London.
The political atmosphere in the state remains charged, highlighted by a recent incident where women walked out on Theresa, the wife of Sole Administrator Ibok-Ete Ibas, during an empowerment program in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

This incident has reignited the verbal clash between Fubara's supporters and those aligned with the Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
The Thanksgiving service, led by Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja at St. Cyprian’s Church, Anglican Communion, was organized to honor the successful religious camp activities of the Boys Brigade in the state.
The event also included a special prayer for Fubara, his family, and for peace in the state.
