Super Falcons striker Rasheedat Ajibade is poised to part ways with Atletico Madrid Femeni at the conclusion of the season, as she is unlikely to renew her contract.
The 25-year-old Nigerian has been an integral player for the Spanish LaLiga side for the last four years, netting an impressive 40 goals in 136 matches.
In the ongoing season, Ajibade has maintained her strong performance, contributing six goals and three assists over 19 matches, while Atletico Madrid currently holds the third position in La Liga Femeni after 27 matches played.
As reported by Soccerdonna, Ajibade is expected to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer, with the club already seeking a replacement for her.
Ajibade has reportedly been linked to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the USA, where her Super Falcons teammate Asisat Oshoala currently plays after transferring from Barcelona.
The NWSL has seen a surge of top female athletes joining recently, and Ajibade is expected to follow suit. While she has not yet been connected to any specific club, there is potential for her to join Oshoala at Bay FC.
Having represented the Super Falcons 29 times and scored five goals, Ajibade is anticipated to be one of the standout players at the upcoming Women’s African Cup of Nations.
