Nigeria’s Super Falcons have maintained their leading position in Africa and are currently ranked 36th in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings released on Thursday.
The nine-time African champions have consistently held the 36th rank since March 2024, preserving the same position in June, August, and December. In this initial ranking of 2025, the Super Falcons remain stable, with their 1622 points, as Africa’s best team.
On the other hand, the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title holders, South Africa, rank 54th globally, followed by Morocco at 60th, Zambia at 64th, and Ghana at 65th. On a global scale, the U.S. continues to be the top-ranked team, trailed by World Champions Spain, Germany, England, and Japan.
