Super Eagles Beat Mozambique, Win First Friendly In Five Years

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a 3-2 victory over Mozambique in a friendly match, breaking a five-year winless streak in friendly games.

Mozambique took an early lead seven minutes into the game with a goal from Geny Catamo, which raised concerns that Nigeria's poor record in friendly matches might continue. Mozambique managed to score, reducing the deficit, with Faisal Abdul Bangal beating Francis Uzoho in the near goal. Sadiq Umar, a striker for Real Sociedad, had two goals disallowed for offside in the 70th and 84th minutes. The Super Eagles managed to hold off Mozambique's efforts to secure a 3-2 victory. This win marked their first victory in a friendly match since March 2019, breaking a streak of seven losses and eight draws in the intervening period.
