Subscribers and users of Dstv and Gotv have aired their grievances following the reduction of subscription packages.
MultiChoice has readjusted its subscription rates for DStv and GOtv users in Nigeria, following a court order mandating a halt to its planned price hikes.
The move came after the company faced legal challenges and lost over a million subscribers to its Nigerian customer base.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal in Abuja had ruled against the price hike, prompting MultiChoice to reflect the readjusted rates on its apps as of Sunday, June 16, 2024.
However, the company, Multichoice, has come under fire as users complain that the price deduction is not reflected in their packages. Subscribers called out the company and advised them to stick to the old prices or risk losing consumers.
One Mr Ngo wrote: "Why is this report everywhere? Their app, both on the web and mobile, still shows the old price. No adjustments yet."
Mr Truth wrote: Exactly! The price is still inflated. Nothing, absolutely nothing changed! Let me explain. Before the increment, I paid 29,500 for premium package. They increased it without any announcements to 37,000. The courts came for them and asked them to revert to the old prices. Dstv refused and kept charging me 37,000. The courts have come for them again and told them to give subscribers a free month and revert back to 29,500 for people like me.
But guess what! I still see 37,000 on my app and I have not received any free subscrition for a month."
