Sterling Bank Limited has collaborated with the Lagos State Government and the Lagos State Health Management Agency to introduce the Ilera Eko healthcare booths.
According to a statement from the bank on Wednesday, the initiative was launched by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that it represents a significant step towards making healthcare more accessible and affordable for the people.
The Ilera Eko booths are aimed at providing basic medical care, telemedicine services, enrolling residents in the LASHMA insurance scheme, and serving as agency banks for daily transactions and essential banking services.
The Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank, Abubakar Suleiman, expressed the bank's ongoing commitment to its HEART strategy, which focuses on health, education, agriculture, renewable energy, and transportation.
Suleiman emphasized that the Ilera Eko booths reflect the bank's dedication to improving communities by integrating health and financial services to enhance the quality of life for all Lagosians.
The Permanent Secretary of LASHMA, Dr. Emmanuela Zamba, also expressed support for the initiative.
