Pistis Foundation, in collaboration with The Asumah Brothers, launched a transformative initiative aimed at empowering 54 street children through sports and technology.
The project, conducted in partnership with Kids Off The Streets, seeks to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children in Lagos.
The initiative, inspired by the increasing number of street children, combines physical activity with technological education to provide comprehensive training in football, basic computing, digital literacy, and technology skills to children aged eight to 16 for five weeks.
Speaking about the initiative, Kehinde Asumah said, “We believe in the potential of every child, including vulnerable children on the streets. Through this project, we aim to provide them with the tools and opportunities required to succeed. By combining sports with technology, we are not only reducing the number of street children but also promoting a safer society and paving the way for future innovators.”
The Executive Director of Pistis Foundation, Leonard Thomas, added, “At Pistis Foundation, our mission is simple; to be a model provider of empowerment opportunities for the economically challenged, through education, health, and shelter programs.
“This initiative with The Asumah Brothers and KOTS is a perfect embodiment of that mission. By combining sports and technology, we are opening doors to new opportunities and bright futures for these children.”
The program will engage 54 children from the streets, offering them a unique opportunity to learn and grow in a nurturing environment. Each week will feature a blend of physical training and technological workshops, supported by skilled coaches, volunteers, and mentors.
