Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, praised citizens for voting in the gubernatorial and assembly elections and explained why his party prevailed.
After being elected to a sixth term on Monday, he remarked, "The victory gained by the APC in Lagos State is testimony of the faith and confidence our people have in us."
The Speaker expressed gratitude to the electorate for re-electing him to represent Agege Constituency 1 in a statement released by spokeswoman Eromosele Ebhomele.
The former local government council chairman Jubril Abdulkarim was elected to represent Agege Constituency 2 in the 10th House, and the Speaker also praised them for it.
Residents, according to Obasa, showed support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) both before and during the election.
The victory demonstrates that the public has faith in the party's ability to further advance democracy over the course of the next four years, the lawmaker continued.
After the election, Obasa urged all parties involved to unite together, work cooperatively, and produce even better outcomes for Lagos State.
In order to fulfill the demands of "our continually evolving society," he pledged that the House of Assembly would continue to pass laws, motions, and resolutions.
