Rescuers in Gaza reported that six individuals were killed and several others injured due to Israeli air strikes in the northern and central regions of the Palestinian territory early on Sunday.
Civil defense spokesperson Mahmud Bassal indicated that five individuals lost their lives in a strike on a residence in Jabalia, located in the north. Another fatality occurred in a drone strike targeting tents that housed displaced people west of Nuseirat in central Gaza.
The Israeli military has intensified its operations in Gaza recently, characterizing it as a renewed effort to eliminate Hamas.
On Saturday afternoon, the military announced it had executed strikes on over 100 targets across Gaza within the previous day.
The health ministry of Gaza reported that at least 3,747 individuals have died in the territory since a ceasefire ended on March 18, elevating the overall death toll of the war to 53,901, predominantly civilians.
Hamas's attack on Israel in October 2023, which initiated the conflict, resulted in the death of 1,218 people, with most being civilians, as per an AFP count based on official statistics.
Additionally, militants captured 251 hostages, with 57 still held in Gaza, including 34 that the Israeli military claims are deceased.
