Manchester United’s minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is offering early bonus payments to staff as part of an effort to reduce the number of employees at Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe, who completed a £1.3 billion deal for a 27.7% stake in the club in February, aims to revolutionize operations across the board.
According to Mirror Football, the British billionaire plans to cut around a quarter of Man United's staff as a cost-saving measure.
Employees who are not scouts or part of the playing staff received an email on Tuesday instructing them to return to the club’s offices in London or Manchester.
Those unwilling to comply have been offered the option to leave the organization with an early bonus, typically paid in September.
Staff members have until June 5 to decide whether to take "voluntary resignation" with the bonus or return to the office by June 1.
