Vice-President Kashim Shettima, on Wednesday, emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among leaders to uphold the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s reforms.
Shettima made this appeal during an Iftar organized by Tinubu for Senate leaders at the new State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.
He pointed out that Nigeria is at a pivotal moment where the effective implementation of Tinubu’s bold leadership and well-considered policies is crucial for fostering lasting change.
He observed that Nigerians are beginning to experience the advantages of these reforms, including decreasing food prices, reduced petrol costs, and greater stability in the foreign exchange market.
He also underscored the economy's anticipated growth of 4.3 to 4.6 percent by 2025, praising Tinubu’s “bold vision” and brave decisions.
Shettima called on political leaders to work together to sustain this progress, asserting that unity is vital for the nation’s advancement.
He expressed appreciation to the Senate for its collaborative relationship with the executive branch and encouraged lawmakers to view themselves as part of one family, regardless of their political differences. “What unites us transcends what divides us,” he stated, assuring ongoing cooperation between the two branches of government.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed gratitude to Mr. Tinubu for his support of the 10th Senate and committed to continued collaboration.
He prayed for divine wisdom and sound health for both the president and vice-president to guarantee the success of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
