Colombian songstress Shakira has expressed worries about finding love again following her breakup with former Barcelona player Gerard Pique.
After 11 years together, the pair announced their separation in June 2022.
This followed suspicions of Pique's adultery.
Shakira, 47, remarked on Zane Lowe's Apple Music 1 show: “I thought love would be there forever for me, and that’s one of my broken dreams.
“I don’t know if I’d like to find that again. Probably not.”
Despite the heartbreak, Shakira has focused on her music career.
Her long-awaited 12th album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” was released recently, marking her return to the music scene.
The singer stated that she "sacrificed" her career for Gerard and is now trying to heal through her music. “Now I feel like working. I feel like writing songs. I feel like making music. "It's a compulsive need of mine that I didn’t feel before,” the three-times Grammy Award-winning singer said.
In June 2022, Shakira and Gerard, in a joint statement, announced their separation. It read: "We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding."
