Seun Kuti, an afrobeat musician, has been freed from police custody.
A Yaba Chief Magistrate Court ordered the singer to be detained at the State Criminal, Investigations, and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for attacking a police officer in a widely circulated video.
On Tuesday, activist Omoyele Sowore revealed on Twitter that the musician had recovered his freedom.
"Just to report that @RealSeunKuti has been freed from @PoliceNG imprisonment in Lagos, Hasta la victoria siempre!” he stated in his post.
