Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has joined the University of Cambridge Senate in the UK.
He is set to participate in the upcoming vote for the next Chancellor later this summer.
The university's Returning Officer, Emma Rampton, informed Ibrahim about this last week, and he is expected to remain a member of the Senate for life.
Ibrahim, who represents the Ondo South Senatorial District and is the chairman and CEO of Global Fleet Group, has also been announced as one of the keynote speakers for the forthcoming Cambridge Africa Business Conference (CABC).
Since its inception in 2012, the CABC has been a meeting point for Africa's most innovative thinkers, industry leaders, and influential global figures.
“The Black Continent will be characterized not by its challenges, but by the creativity, resilience, and ambition of those who are shaping its future. This year's speakers are formidable leaders who are creating and enhancing the foundations the continent requires.
Scheduled for May 17, 2025, the conference will take place at the Cambridge Judge Business School, bringing together prominent global business figures and experts.
The organizers shared, “This year's theme, 'Africa Tomorrow: Driving Innovation, Growth, and Global Influence,' focuses on the future, how we can break new ground, expand solutions, and define Africa’s position in the global arena. If you are genuinely invested in the future of business in Africa, this is the event to attend.”
