The United States intelligence officials have briefed Donald Trump, the former U.S. President and current Republican presidential candidate, regarding purported assassination threats from Iran.

According to the campaign crew, the Republican presidential candidate was informed of “real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilise and sow chaos in the United States.”

Trump published a message on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, “Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting.

“Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again.”

No further details were provided on the claims, and it remains uncertain whether the threats are new or have been reported before.

Trump claimed that he is now surrounded by more personnel, firearms, and weapons than he has ever encountered.

The Iranian government did not immediately respond to a request for comment; however, Tehran has previously denied US allegations of meddling in American affairs.

Trump stated, “Thank you Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service – Zero ‘NO’ Votes, strictly bipartisan.

“An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!”

Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign’s communications director, stated that intelligence officials have noted an increase in ongoing and coordinated attacks over the past few months.

“Law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and the election is free from interference,” he added.

This follows an assassination attempt on July 13, when Trump was injured and another individual was killed in a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania.

The motive for the attack has not yet been established, and the incident is still under investigation.

Subsequently, on September 15, a Secret Service agent observed a rifle protruding through a fence at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. Trump was engaged in a round of golf when the agent initiated fire.

U.S. prosecutors have charged Ryan Wesley Routh, who was arrested near a golf course, with the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate. There has been no indication of Iranian involvement in either incident.
