Police in South Florida invaded Singer Sean Kingston's house and detained his mother on Thursday morning, May 23, in connection with claims that he defrauded a tech business of thousands of dollars in a transaction for a huge television and speaker system.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office and Davie Police SWAT executed arrest and search warrants at the upscale Southwest Ranches home as part of an investigation that began in nearby Dania Beach, according to The Post.
Authorities raided the opulent property, although it was unclear whether Kingston, whose actual name is Kisean Paul Anderson, was present at the time.
Janice Turner, Kingston's 61-year-old mother, was arrested at the scene on "numerous" fraud and theft charges.
Turner, known as "Mama Kingston" on Instagram, was seen being led away in handcuffs in a photo obtained by WSVN.
The charges against Kingston stem from a lawsuit filed in February by Ver Ver Entertainment LLC, which seeks damages from the "Beautiful Girls" singer for breach of contract and fraud.
Kingston reached out to Ver Ver via Instagram in September 2023 and bought a 232-inch Colossal TV, as well as a sound system, the company alleged in the documents viewed by The Post.
The price of the television starts at over $91,000, according to the retailer’s website – with the speaker system and assembly tacking on another $20,000 bill.
To lower the price of the $111,000 purchase, Kingston supposedly promised to make promotional videos about the products with his friend, Justin Beiber, the suit said.
