LAGOS, Nigeria- The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has organized a meeting with stakeholders, including party leaders and candidates, in preparation for the Local Government Elections scheduled for July 12 in the state.
The Publicity Secretary for the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC), Seye Oladejo, announced this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.
The meeting aims to gather APC leaders, both elected and appointed officials, along with all candidates running under the party's banner. It will take place at noon on Monday at the State House in Marina.
“This meeting will act as a rallying point to mobilize our efforts for the upcoming local government elections,” Oladejo remarked.
He further expressed that the APC in Lagos appreciates the ongoing trust and support from residents towards the party’s progressive ideals, which have contributed significantly to the state's unmatched development across various sectors.
“We believe that the significant achievements of our local government councils in areas such as education, primary healthcare, housing, and social interventions will translate to substantial votes for all our candidates during the elections,” Oladejo emphasized.
Recalled that the ruling party had officially presented flags to its 57 chairmanship and 376 councillorship candidates on Tuesday.
This flag-off event also signified the start of the party’s campaign for the elections, held at the APC State Secretariat in Ogba.
