With Arsenal behind Liverpool in the Premier League title contention, former defender Bacary Sagna has shared some encouraging words, asserting that Mikel Arteta's team is still capable of finishing on top.
Arsenal currently finds themselves six points behind league leaders Liverpool, a gap that could widen to nine if the Reds win their game in hand against Everton. Nevertheless, Sagna remains hopeful, encouraging his old club to maintain patience and focus.
He is confident that Liverpool will falter in the final phase of the season, allowing Arsenal an opportunity to take advantage especially with a crucial direct confrontation still looming.
"Liverpool will drop points. They have some tough matches ahead, and I doubt they will be able to secure victories in every one of them. The key for Arsenal is not to fall too far behind Liverpool right now. With Liverpool's game in hand, they could lead by nine points by Thursday," he remarked.
Mikel Arteta’s squad enters Saturday’s match against Leicester with a boost in morale, following a dominant 5-1 win over Manchester City.
Arteta has emphasized the importance of maintaining that level of intensity, underlining the team's confidence in their capability to compete at the top tier. With a vital series of matches approaching, Arsenal remains firmly in the race for the Premier League title.
