A Russian drone attack on Kharkiv overnight resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a child, and left over a dozen others injured, according to Ukrainian officials on Monday.
"Currently, we know that three people have died, among them a young child, and 18 others have been injured, including children," stated the Kharkiv region police on Telegram.
They also cautioned that there may be individuals trapped beneath the debris of a five-story apartment building that was struck in the early morning hours. Earlier in the day, a ballistic missile had hit the city, injuring at least 11 people, according to Mayor Igor Terekhov.
Additionally, on the same day, Russian strikes targeted the Sumy region near the border, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
The head of the regional military administration, Oleg Grygorov, reported that a bomb followed by a drone attack injured a 57-year-old woman and a 43-year-old driver.
Bolaji Akinyemi advised the Nigerian government to maintain neutrality in global conflicts, while Iraq discovered a mass grave of ISIS victims. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his European allies are set to meet in Washington to discuss ways to end the ongoing war.
Just before Zelensky's arrival in the US, President Donald Trump stated that reclaiming Crimea or joining NATO were not options for Ukraine. Zelensky has consistently opposed the pressure to surrender territory currently held by Russia, which accounts for about 20 percent of Ukraine.
Recently, Russia has made additional territorial advances, particularly in eastern Ukraine, while suggesting that Ukraine should withdraw from Donbas in exchange for a halt in fighting in the Black Sea port regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, where the primary cities remain under Kyiv’s control.
