Rotimi Akeredolu: Ondo State Governor Returns After 3-Month Medical In Germany

The governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has returned to Nigeria after a three-month medical leave in Germany.

He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday afternoon. During his absence, he had temporarily handed over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to act as the governor. His wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, confirmed his return through social media, sharing a photograph of him with the caption "homebound." It is reported that Governor Akeredolu will travel to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, from Abuja before heading to Ondo State. An insider source has mentioned that a meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday in Ibadan with cabinet members and other members of his political family. In the video, the governor was seen dancing alongside his wife and close associates. A source via The Nation said the governor would arrive in Ibadan, where he would take a few days rest. “I’m also aware that some members of the state Exco might likely visit him there to welcome him back to the state”.
