Al-Nassr star, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly breached his contract with Nike.
The breach allegedly occurred when he wore Adidas shin pads during Al-Nassr's recent friendly match against Celta Vigo, as reported by Sportbible.
During the game, Ronaldo, who is the captain of the Portugal national team, played only the first half, and the match remained goalless after the initial 45 minutes.
However, fans and cameras noticed that he was wearing Adidas shin pads, sparking controversy over whether he violated his contract with Nike.
Since the beginning of his professional career in 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo has been associated with Nike as a brand athlete. In 2016, he signed a staggering £1 billion lifetime contract with the sportswear company.
Interestingly, SPORTBible points out that in one of his most famous Nike adverts, Ronaldo previously wore an Adidas jumper. However, the Adidas logo was edited out of the advert and replaced with the Nike logo.
The incident has raised questions about the implications for Ronaldo's contractual obligations with Nike and the potential consequences of breaching such a high-profile agreement.
