Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has cautioned her colleagues in the movie industry over their lifestyle.
The actress stated this in a post on her Instagram page on Wednesday, adding that those who smoke and drink excessively will not receive financial assistance from her if they have health issues.
She went on to say that there are warning signs everywhere about the consequences of smoking, yet people ignore them.
She said, “All these people that are playing with their lives anyhow, smoking and drinking beyond control. When you start having health challenges, I won’t contribute shi shi.
“The kidney, heart, liver and lungs are very delicate organs in the human body and should be properly taken care of. So if any of you play with your organs, don’t come to my DM or comment section to solicit for money.
“Even the Federal Ministry of Health keeps warning that smokers are liable to die young. It is boldly written on the packet. And you will be soliciting support after damaging your body. I no go give one kobo ooo.”
Over the years, the majority of Nollywood superstars have developed illnesses or even died following the excesses of their unhealthy habits and lifestyles. some of whom are still in the hospital, soliciting funds and help from colleagues and meaningful citizens.
Recall that comic actor Mr. Ibu has recently been discharged from the hospital following a series of surgeries after being diagnosed with diabetes. In the same vein, actor Amaechi Muonagor is also seen soliciting funds after being hospitalized and diagnosed with paralysis.
The late Nollywood actor Muna Obiekwe also died of kidney disease due to alleged excessive smoking and drinking.
