Afrobeats singer and Mavin Records signee Rema has announced that he will cancel all of his December 2023 show in order to focus on his health. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the singer stated that he would not be performing due to health concerns. The singer did, however, promise to return to the stage next year. Rema takes musical break He said: “It breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December,” “It has been years of touring, I have ignored my health and I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again, love.” Earlier this month, the Edo-born singer closed out his "Ravage Uprising" tour at London's sold-out 20,000-capacity 02 Arena, thrilling the audience with his delightful collection of songs on stage. Rema joins other award-winning Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake in selling out the arena. In response to Rema's announcement, Davido acknowledged the difficulties of being an artist, emphasizing the physical and mental toll it can impose. He praised Rema, whom he referred to as his junior colleague, for making Africa and the rest of the world proud with his electrifying performances and music. Davido expressed his support for Rema and urged him to prioritize self-care. In a comment on Rema’s post, Davido wrote; “The job ain’t easy… You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations… get some rest King @heisrema come back stronger.” The gesture didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who flooded the comment section with praise for Davido’s kindness and encouragement towards Rema.
