Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Rema stopped his performance and walked off stage during the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina.
On day two of the event, Rema performed his hit song "Calm Down" in Dix Park in Raleigh. However, his performance was plagued by frequent sound troubles.
The terrible audio quality disturbed the flow of his set, prompting his decision to end the show.
In a trending video online, Rema seized the microphone and spoke to the audience. He pushed for equal treatment of African artists on worldwide venues.
He exclaimed: “Hold on, there are too many sound issues. It’s messing up my whole performance. I’m seriously not feeling this sh*t.
“I’m representing Africa, and this is too messed up. If the sound cannot be perfect for every artist that gets on this stage… Africa is in the house, and you are messing sh*t up”
The Dreamville Festival was created by American hip-hop superstar, J. Cole, The annual event celebrates music, culture, and creativity, drawing artists and fans from around the world.
