Rema's debut album was rated a diamond in France.
SNEP has recognised Rema's debut album 'Raves & Roses' as a diamond two years after its release.
This was disclosed in a post on SNEP's official Instagram account on March 25, 2023, after the album's sales topped 500,000 units.
The album 'Raves & Roses' was published in March 2022, following the release of the singles 'Soundgasm' and 'Calm Down'.
The album's success was spearheaded by the record-breaking success of "Calm Down," whose Selena Gomez remix rocketed it to global success.
"Calm Down" is the first and only Afrobeat song to have surpassed one billion Spotify streams. The music video has also received over 830 million views on YouTube, a Nigerian record.
The song is also the highest and longest-charting Nigerian single on Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number three and being on the chart for a total of 52 weeks.
'Calm Down' was a certified diamond in France, where it achieved enormous popularity. It's an Afrobeats record that features Burna Boy's 'On The Low' and 'Last Last', Ayra Starr's 'Rush', Oxlade's 'Kulosa', and CKay's 'Love Nwantiti'.
With its SNEP diamond certification, 'Raves & Roses' becomes only the second Nigerian album to receive France's highest certification, following Burna Boy's Grammy-nominated fifth album, 'African Giant'.
