The Nigeria Police Force has been urged by the Police Service Commission to present credible evidence to support the claims made about the recruitment of constables.
The force had previously rejected the names of those recruited by the commission and alleged that some of the names were not even applicants.
The Joint Union Congress of the Police Service Commission refuted these claims and called for the removal of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
In response, Egbetokun stated that his actions were aimed at ensuring that qualified individuals were recruited into the force.
The Police Service Commission, through its Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, stated that the allegations made by the police were an attempt to tarnish the commission's reputation.
The commission demanded that the police provide verifiable evidence to support their allegations and emphasized that due process was strictly followed throughout the recruitment exercise.
Ani also called for a forensic audit to be conducted on the list released by the PSC.
