The Director of the Diaspora Directorate of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Prince Ade Omole, has returned N2.4m to the council.
The funds represented the remaining N10 million distributed to Bola Ahmed Tinubu's diaspora team for his presidential campaign on February 25.
Omole detailed the directorate's spending in an eight-page dossier that included a breakdown of the costs incurred in a statement on Friday.
Omole reported that Christopher Tarka, the PCC's vice secretary, had received the money.
"Importantly, the diaspora directorate only received N10m throughout the campaign phase," according to Omole. "Only N7.6 million of the amount provided for the diaspora directorate members' transportation was actually used; the remaining amount was duly reimbursed."
Tarka responded by praising Omole and his group for their direct leadership, responsibility, openness, and contribution to Tinubu's triumph.
"Campaign sub-committees typically do not return money, but you have once again blazed the trail," Tarka continued. This directorate distributed Tinubuism and the APC's action plan around the world and received donations from Nigerians all over the world totaling millions of naira for various campaign mementos."
