President Bola Tinubu has called upon foreign ambassadors in Nigeria to prioritize the exploration of new trade frontiers that are mutually beneficial for both nations.
The President made this charge on Friday, December 15, during the reception of Letters of Credence from the Ambassador of Hungary, Lorand Endreffy; High Commissioner of Rwanda, Christophe Bazivamo, and Ambassador of Ukraine, Ivan Kholostenko, at the State House.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu emphasized the need for enhanced trade relations and assured foreign investors of diligent and predictable fund repatriation, along with a streamlined tax system.
Addressing the concerns over trapped funds, the President assured the High Commissioner of Rwanda that the issues were receiving attention, and the funds would be expediently processed for release. He affirmed the commitment to promoting democracy, good governance, and maintaining an open-door policy.
President Tinubu stated, "For the avoidance of doubt, we are already working on the issues of double taxation, and it will be properly streamlined to favor business growth. Nigeria is home and a haven for investors."
During the ceremony, the Rwandan High Commissioner expressed the government's readiness to enhance bilateral relations with Nigeria, introducing new visa policies and trade agreements.
President Tinubu also urged the Ambassador of Hungary to explore partnership opportunities, particularly in agriculture, food security, and technology leveraging. The call underscores the commitment to fostering collaborative efforts between Nigeria and its international partners for mutual growth and development.
