Controversial Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has openly criticized social media commentator Martins Otse, also recognized as VeryDarkMan (VDM), for trying to drag him into a diss track aimed at gospel artist Mercy Chinwo.
This development follows Chinwo's lawsuit against VDM, which she initiated, claiming defamation and seeking ₦1.1 billion in damages.
The lawsuit arises from VDM's allegations that Chinwo misused funds from her performances without transferring them to her former record label.
In reaction to the lawsuit, VDM stated his intention to release a diss track titled “Body of Christ” and expressed a desire to feature Portable.
However, Portable firmly rejected the proposal in an Instagram post on Saturday, cautioning VDM to stop mentioning his name.
He slammed VDM for supposedly damaging the reputations of various individuals, businesses, and marriages. Portable also questioned whether VDM had the financial means for a collaboration, asking if he possessed ₦100 million for his verse.
He stated, “Stop talking about me, do not mention my name. You defame people; you are one of the individuals who defame celebrities online. You defame wealthy individuals. You defame those who carry grace and glory, as well as people's businesses and marriages. You just appear from nowhere… You suggested that we should record a song together; do you have ₦100 million in your account to feature me?”
