Controversial singer Portable has sought forgiveness for slapping a clergyman who came to preach at his pub.
Recall that the musician was recently caught on camera hitting a pastor.
Following the attack, Portable received outrage from netizens and other preachers, who threatened to take action against him for attacking a man of God.
Among them was Gospel musician Testimony Jaga, who openly criticised the conduct in an Instagram post on Friday.
Jaga stated that if the pastor had done something improper, the appropriate method of action would have been to involve the authorities rather than Portable taking the laws into his own hands.
The gospel singer ended his statement by warning that if Portable failed to apologise within three days, there could be further consequences.
However, addressing the controversy in a video he shared in the midnight on Monday, Portable attributed his actions to past experience.
While begging God for forgiveness, he explained that he attacked the preacher because he thought he was there to cause him spiritual harm.
He said: “My fans, community issues are different from that of the street. May God forgive me. I didn’t know he was a genuine man of God. If I knew I wouldn’t have slapped him.
“I’m also a child of God. I’m a human, I’m not perfect. I am an orphan. They have harmed my sister through this same strategy.”
