ANAMBRA, Nigeria - In its continued efforts to boost security and regain public trust, the Anambra State Police Command has introduced new operational measures to pursue gunmen who are endangering communities throughout the state.
This initiative comes in response to a wave of recent assaults attributed to armed factions operating in the region, which have disrupted daily life and intensified demands for a stronger security presence.
The execution of these measures is deemed essential for preventing additional attacks, safeguarding residents, and enabling law-abiding citizens to carry out their daily routines without fear.
The command's Public Relations officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, shared this information in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the new strategy aligns with Commissioner Ikioye Orutugu's commitment to enhance security and safeguard the lives of residents in the state.
Accordingly, Orutugu has instructed police operatives throughout the state division to increase night patrols to reinforce the Police's dedication to serving and protecting the community.
While addressing the officers, the Commissioner urged them to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
He also emphasized the importance of conducting patrols with diligence, respect, and courtesy while upholding the rights of citizens.
