Nnamdi Chude, a devoted supporter of the Labour Party, received the most recent report on Wednesday from the Nigerian Police Force. (LP).
Chude is being looked into for cyberstalking, according to a statement from CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force's Public Relations Officer.
The following is a portion of the statement: "The Nigeria Police hereby confirms that one Mr. Chude Franklin Nnamdi with the Twitter handle @chude__was arrested in Onitsha, Anambra State on the 18th of March, 2023, and he is being investigated by the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC) Abuja, for cyberstalking, pursuant to a complaint received via a petition, about his activities on social media that violate the provision of Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015 and other relevant criminal statutes.
However, the police advised the general population to become familiar with legal rules and be aware of the consequences for breaking them, particularly with regard to cybercrime legislation given the emerging trends in the digital media sphere.
Chude was detained by the Anambra State Police last Saturday as a result of his tweets criticizing Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of that state.
On Saturday, Chude tweeted that the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Soludo's political group, was complicit in the rigging of the House of Assembly election.
He asserted that Soludo played a key role in the fraud and added that some thugs stole several ballot boxes.
