The Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has refuted accusations that armed men attacked Galadimawa, killing and abducting some citizens.
According to reports, gunmen terrorizing portions of the nation's capital seized 19 Galadimawa citizens and killed 12 of them.
According to the allegation, among the abductees was Barrister Chris Agidy, an adviser to a sitting Senator, Ned Nwoko.
However, according to a statement issued and made available on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the story was proven to be untrue following a thorough inquiry.
She said, “Following a careful examination of the allegations, it was clearly established that these claims are false and misleading, showing an intention, either deliberately or not, to misguide and instill fear in the public.
“The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba psc, which to assure the residents of Galadimawa and indeed the entire FCT that the Command has deployed tactical and robust intelligence apparatus to ensure security of life and property.
“While urging residents to remain vigilant, CP Haruna warns those spreading fake and baseless reports to desist from doing so. He stressed that this misinformation only serves to distort the prevailing peace and tranquility enjoyed by the residents of FCT.”
However, in other news Gunmen have abducted eight women on a farm in Gwombe village, in Gwargwada Chiefdom, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This is coming barely 48 hours after gunmen abducted the father of the vice chairman of Kwali Area Council of the FCT, alongside six others in Yewuti village in Kwali.
According to a source, the incident happened around 5:00 pm on Monday.
