Benue Police Command has confirmed the distressing abduction of Descon Tor Yaji, the leader of the Kunav United Development Association, a prominent tribal group in Benue State. The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Monday at his rural residence in Tsar Mbaduku, within the Vandeikya Local Government Area.
Sources close to the situation reported that Yaji was spending time with friends when several gunmen disrupted the gathering by opening fire and subsequently kidnapping him. The police were alerted about the incident the following day.

"On December 30, 2024, at about 8:30 p.m., we received a report at the Vandeikya Police Division that Mr. Emmanuel Tor Yaji was kidnapped while relaxing with his friends in Tsar," she explained. Anene detailed that detectives were immediately deployed to the area to commence a rescue operation and that the investigation is currently ongoing.
