Plateau state has witnessed yet another fatal truck accident in just one week on Tuesday.
The fatal truck accident involving two Dangote trailers collided in Plateau State, resulting in a tragic accident that claimed the lives of four individuals.
The incident, which occurred in Zakaliyo community, Jos North Local Government Area, also left nine others injured, according to eyewitnesses.
A resident of the community, Philip Haruna expressed deep sorrow over the accident, offering thoughts and prayers for the injured victims and their families. He commended the swift response of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials and other emergency rescue workers.
FRSC's Public Education Officer, Peter Langsan, confirmed the accident, noting that rescue operations were ongoing. Langsan reported that four people were found dead at the scene, while nine injured individuals had been evacuated to the hospital.
The accident involved two Dangote trailers—one transporting salt and the other carrying flour—along with three other vehicles. Among the injured were five females and four males.
Langsan emphasized that the accident was the second involving trucks in Jos North Local Government Area within a week. Last Tuesday, three individuals died in a similar incident when a truck loaded with cows fell from an overhead bridge in the Gada Biu community.
Langsan attributed these accidents to speeding and warned against carrying passengers in vehicles intended for hauling goods.
The recurring accidents is raising a lot of concerns in the public and leaving them wondering if the situation will ever come to an end.
