Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) candidate for president in the February 25 presidential election, has urged Governor Alex Otti of Abia State to focus on providing excellent governance to the state's residents, especially the less fortunate.
Obi asserted that the least fortunate citizens of Nigeria have already endured enough suffering and pains.
Following a thanksgiving service held in Otti's honor on Sunday, the former governor of Anambra State revealed this on Monday by posting a statement on his Twitter account.
Programs and policies emphasizing health, education, and helping people out of poverty should be given top priority, according to Obi.
"Earlier today, I was in Abia State for my dear friend and brother, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. @alexottiofr, to celebrate Thanksgiving," he posted. I took advantage of the chance to urge Gov. Otti to concentrate on providing excellent governance to the residents of Abia State, particularly the less fortunate.
"The less fortunate citizens of Nigeria have already endured enough suffering, according to many. Health, education, and measures that help people escape poverty should be given first priority.
"I do honestly hope that the less fortunate will be as joyful as they are today, celebrating the State's new dawn and looking forward to a better tomorrow, in the coming four years.
"May God grant him the insight, fortitude, and comprehension to advance the State in every way possible. God bless the good people of Abia State, as we all fight to create the New Nigeria."
