ABUJA,Nigeria - The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has set April 12 for the previously postponed South-South zonal congress.
The party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, announced this in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja.
Ologunagba indicated that the NWC also endorsed the rescheduling of the South-West and North-Central zonal congresses from their original date of March 22 to April 12.
He mentioned that the zonal congresses will take place simultaneously in Port Harcourt for the South-South zone, Ibadan for the South-West zone, and Jos for the North-Central zone.
The PDP spokesperson noted that executive officers and national ex-officio members for the respective zonal chapters will be elected during the congresses, in accordance with the party’s constitution and guidelines.
He called on all aspirants, PDP leaders, stakeholders, and members within the respective zones, as well as INEC, security agencies, and the media to be aware of the dates for the zonal congresses and to act accordingly.
