In a bid to boost the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's integrated approach to education, the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency plans to enrol and validate a total of 10,000 pupils in the state under its health insurance coverage.
This Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Sola Akande, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Nureni Adeniran.
Akande said, “This visit is very timely as the agency is ready to embark on the enrolment and validation of 10,000 pupils who will benefit from the Oyo State Health Insurance Policy.”
He noted that the pupils would benefit immensely from the insurance programme.
He said the insurance policy, the first of its kind in the country, would be a model for other South-West states going forward.
He also said that the insurance policy would commence in September at the beginning of a new session.
