The opposition All Progressives Congress in Osun State has expressed confidence that it's will defeat Governor Ademola Adeleke out of the government house in 2026 governorship poll.

The Osun APC’s Director of Media, Mr Kola Olabisi, said this while reacting to the boast by the Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, that the PDP would rule Osun forever, given Adeleke’s unpresidented achievements in office.

Bisi spoke during the monthly interactive session Organised by the league of veteran journalists in Osogbo, the state capital.

The PDP chairman said the governor came rescue the PDP at the crucial time and had been magnanimous in conducting affairs of government.

“The previous government in the state began rehabilitation of the road from Gbongan to Akoda and for a good 12 years, the repair work is still within Gbongan town, no progress.

“The road is still incomplete till today. They collected money for the construction of these roads but they didn’t deliver the projects. If such a government should come back to Osun State, the people will suffer.

“We have tasted two different governments and now we know the one that is sweeter. PDP will continue to rule Osun State forever,” Bisi said.

He said the Adeleke administration would continue to initiate and implement projects that would impact the lives of residents positively.

Contacted for reaction, the Director of Media of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Kola Olabisi, declared the readiness of the opposition to end Adeleke’s reign in the next governorship poll.

Olabisi said, “We are not moved by the  statement credited to Mr Sunday Bisi, the factional chairman of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party PDP, that his party would rule the state forever as such a statement is an indication that his party would lose the state to the opposition All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming 2026: elections.

“If we go down memory lane, it is when the PDP is destined to lose an election that such an odious and horrendous statement of ruling the state forever comes out of the handlers of the ill-fated party. It is still fresh in the memory of the people of this country how one of the former national chairmen of the PDP haughtily stated that their party would rule the nation for 60 years which eventually resulted in the loss of the party at the national level to the progressive party.

“We were also in Osun State when the PDP handlers arrogantly stated that the party would rule forever which was proved wrong by the torpedoing of the PDP government by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.”
