Victor Osimhen states that Galatasaray will continue to strive for the title after their hard-fought 2-1 victory against Alanyaspor on Sunday.
Osimhen netted the decisive goal for Okan Buruk’s team with an impressive header in the 62nd minute.
The victory places Galatasaray in a solid position for their third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title, putting them seven points ahead of their nearest rivals, Fenerbahce, who still have a game in hand. “First, I want to congratulate the team and express my gratitude to our fans. We wouldn’t have mustered the energy to secure these three points without them,” Osimhen shared on the club’s official website.
He added: “We were not very sharp in the first half, but we managed to lift our game in the second half. We are aware that every match leading to the season's conclusion will be challenging and akin to a final. We will work to keep up our momentum.”
Osimhen also commented on the motivation present in the locker room. “Everyone communicated in the dressing room. I believe we excel in this area. Our captain, Sanchez, Günay, and the rest of us engage in discussions. We inspire one another,” he noted.
“I believe this is one of the factors that provided us the energy we required in the second half. We were convinced of securing the three points. We concentrated on that. We have great respect for our opponent, but we feel we earned this victory.”
Thus far, Osimhen has accumulated 22 goals and five assists in 29 matches across all competitions this season for Okan Buruk’s team.
